PRESS RELEASE
If you are a lover of well known and perhaps not so well known classical music and would like to hear two brilliant young soloists then Thursday April 10th (2014) at 7.30pm you must be at St Thomas on the Bourne Church.
Lara Caister is a fantastic young violinist, only 16 years old but has already performed widely abroad as soloist in Vienna, Paris Venice, Barcelona and recently in Verona, Padua and Manua. She has played at the Barbican with a combined British/American youth orchestra conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and her string quartet has performed at St. Martin in the Field. Lara is currently at the Purcell School of Music and her teacher is Marius Bedeschi.
Lara has been the young instrumentalist of the year at Richmond, Kingston and in 2013, Farnham. She has won several Concerto Competitions and has been invited to do a full concerto workshop with Richmond Symphony where she will be playing Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1.
All this and Lara is only 16!
Lara’s accompanist, Alison Rhind, worked at the Yehudi Menuhin School for twelve years and coached many young instrumentalists with whom she has since forged notable recital partnerships, particularly with the violinists Alina Ibragimova and Nicola Benedetti. She is currently coaching at the Royal College of Music.
